Prep time: 20 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Serves: 12 Mini no nut butter cups

Halloween is fast approaching, and you know what that means? A ton of peanut based candy will be doing the rounds. The non-food, trick-or-treat teal pumpkin initiative is really gaining steam which is SO awesome. However if you’re kids are at all curious about their own wow/seed butter cups we’ve got a great recipe for you – No Nut Butter Cups!

Our No Nut Butter Cups are made with allergy free chocolate (we use Enjoy Life), and Wowbutter, or if you prefer or are soy free any Seed butter (like Sunbutter). These little cups are pretty quick and easy to take on, and a great inclusive option.

Kids get to be chocolateries in their very own kitchen, what could be better!

No Nut Butter Cups

  • Prep time: 20 minutes
  • Cook time: 10 minutes
  • Total time: 16 minutes
  • Serves: 12 Mini no nut butter cups

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Wow butter, (Sub for any seed based butter alternative)
  • 3/4 cup Allergy free chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon tapioca flour, (optional if your wow/seed butter is too runny)
  • 9 mini cupcake papers

Method

  • 1)

Melt your chocolate on low in a small pot.

  • 2)

Spoon out half of your chocolate into the mini cupcake papers. Try and coat the sides of the paper a little way up by tilting the papers slightly while the chocolate is runny.

  • 3)

Place the papers into the fridge to set the chocolate.

  • 4)

Once the chocolate is set, evenly spoon out the Wow/seed butter into the cupcake papers. If the wow/seed butter is quite runny, stir in the tapioca flour to help thicken it up. Place back into the fridge to set again.

  • 5)

Once the Wow/seed butter is set and flat, spoon out the last of the chocolate evenly on top of the wow/seed butter layer. Sprinkle the tops with the salt if you like, and pop it in the fridge once again to set.

  • 6)

Keep refrigerated until you’re ready to serve!

Notes

There are a few peanut butter alternatives on the market that are completely free of peanuts and tree nuts. We use Wowbutter which is made with roasted soy beans, but Sunbutter is also a great alternative that’s made from sunflower seeds and is soy free for our soy allergic friends.
